JavaOne Conference in San Francisco

I'll be in San Francisco from Monday through Thursday next week while attending the 2005 JavaOne conference. This is Sun Microsystems' annual conference celebrating all things Java. I'm really excited about the proliferation of session subjects typically reserved for mature programming and computing environments. Some topics I'm in are:

  • Java Management Extensions (JMX) - support the monitoring and dynamic configuration of Java applications

  • Bluetooth - I've been waiting for these API's to become available in order to support the creation of some killer mobile apps

  • Security - we've got a plethora of ways to access services and data, but few trusted ways of securing them

  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) - I'm working on SOA's at present and am interested in learning more about some of the design factors and technical solutions being recognized in the marketplace

I'll try to post some photos of the conference and my time in the city. I love Java!
